DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Haridwar to Joshimath (Altitude: 1,875 m/ 6152 feet)
- Your journey begins with a pick-up from Haridwar Railway Station at 6:30 am. Board the Tempo Travellers for a scenic drive to Joshimath via Rishikesh, covering a distance of 288 km. The journey takes approximately 10 to 11 hours, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas, lush valleys, and gushing rivers along the way. Upon reaching Joshimath, check-in to your hotel and relax after a long day of travel.
Day 2: Joshimath to Govindghat to Ghangaria (Altitude: 10101 feet)
- After a hearty breakfast, embark on a short drive from Joshimath to Govindghat, covering a distance of 18 km in approximately 1 hour. From Govindghat, begin your trek to Ghangaria, situated 09 km away and taking around 5 to 6 hours to complete. The trail offers mesmerizing views of the lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. Upon reaching Ghangaria, check-in to your hotel and rest for the night.
Day 3: Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers (Altitude: 12140 feet)
- Today's trek takes you to the enchanting Valley of Flowers, located 10 km away from Ghangaria. The trail winds through verdant meadows, dense forests, and alpine flowers, offering a glimpse of the diverse flora and fauna of the region. Spend the day exploring the valley, marveling at the vibrant colors of the wildflowers and capturing breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. After a memorable day in the valley, return to Ghangaria and relax at your hotel.
Day 4: Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib (Altitude: 14,100 feet)
- Rise early and embark on a challenging trek to Hemkund Sahib, a revered Sikh pilgrimage site situated at an altitude of 14,100 feet. The trail ascends steeply through rocky terrain and dense forests, offering panoramic views of the Himalayas along the way. Upon reaching Hemkund Sahib, visit the gurudwara and take a dip in the sacred lake before returning to Ghangaria for the night.
Day 5: Ghangaria to Govind Ghat to Joshimath
- Bid farewell to Ghangaria as you trek back to Govind Ghat, covering a distance of 09 km in approximately 5 to 6 hours. From Govind Ghat, board the taxi for a drive back to Joshimath, completing the journey in around 1 hour. Check-in to your hotel in Joshimath and unwind after a day of trekking.
Day 6: Joshimath to Haridwar via Rishikesh
- Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before embarking on the scenic drive back to Haridwar via Rishikesh. The journey covers a distance of 258 km and takes approximately 9 to 10 hours to complete. En route, make a stop at Rishikesh to visit the famous temples and ashrams and take a dip in the holy Ganges. Continue your journey to Haridwar and reach by evening around 7:00 pm, marking the end of your memorable trekking adventure.
